Supplies: A graphing calculator is
required, a TI-86, TI-83 or TI-84 is recommended. CAS calculators will NOT be allowed
for use during a test. A cell phone/smartphone may
NOT be used as a calculator.
Method of Evaluation:
Tests - There will be three tests given during the course of the semester. If you must miss a test, you can make arrangements to take the test ahead of time, but NOT after the test has been administered in class. If you miss a test you will receive a 0. You may replace one test grade with your final exam grade.
Homework Grade - There will be seven homework assignments, consisting of selected problems from the applications section (the last section of each chapter). The homework grade will be the average of the six best homework assignments. Homework must be turned in at the beginning of class on the day it is due. LATE HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Final Exam - There will be a comprehensive final exam.
Grading Policy:
The final course grade will be determined by adding 65% of the average of the three test grades, 15% of the homework grade, and 20% of the final exam grade. The following scale will be used to assign the final course grade:

Attendance Policy:
Students are expected to attend class. If you must miss a class, you are responsible for the material that was covered.Classroom Policy:
DO NOT DISTRACT class by texting, reading or sending e-mail, or doing any unrelated web surfing during class time.
There are NO restroom breaks during a test.
Any disruptive behavior will be referred to the Dean of Students.
Course Withdrawl Policy:
The last day to withdraw from the course with a grade of "W" is March 9, 2018. The student must initiate the drop process through the Student Development Center at any campus.
