Method of Evaluation
Evaluation will be based on the following elements:

Textbook Activity (Assignments and Exams): 50%
Student Activity Manual Assignments: 50%

Grading Scale: 100 to 90 = A / Below 90.0 to 80 = Below 80.0 to 70 = C/ Below 70.0 to 60 = D/ Below 60 = F

Chapter Assignments and exams: You will take each Assignment and exam at Heinle Learning Center online platform. Tests must be taken before deadline expiration. Failing to submit one (1) Assignment or one (1) exam in the course of the semester will have no adverse effect on your final grade. Any missed assignment or exam beyond one (1) will result in a grade of F (for that missed submission, not for the course). Students who will submit all assignments and exams will be allowed to drop the lowest test grade. This accommodation is for One (1) submission in total, either 1 assignment or 1 exam.

Student Activity Manual Assignments: You will do and submit assignment for each Chapter at Heinle Learning Center online platform. Students are allowed to drop one (1) Student Activity Manual Assignment grade. Failing to turn in one (1) assignment in the course of the semester will have no adverse effect on your final grade. Students who will submit all assignments will be allowed to drop the lowest test grade.

No assignment or exam will be accepted beyond the due date. Please consider that these accommodations are meant to take care of unforeseen circumstances, emergencies and other hardships. Any further missed work beyond what is specified above, and for any reason, will affect your performance. Diligence and consistency in completing assignments along with adequate preparation for tests are essential to success in this class.

Religious Holy days

In accordance with Section 51.911 of the Texas Education Code, Collin College will allow a student who is unable to take an examination or complete an assignment scheduled for that day, due to the observance of a religious holy day, to make-up for it within a reasonable time. Students are required to file a written request with each professor within the first 15 days of the semester to qualify for an excused delay. A copy of the state rules and procedures regarding holy days, and the form of notification under this provision, are available from the Admissions Office and Records Office.

The College may initiate disciplinary proceedings against a student accused of scholastic dishonesty.

Scholastic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, statements, acts, or omissions related to applications for enrollment or the award of a degree and/or the submission as one's own work material that is not one's own. Scholastic dishonesty may involve, but is not limited to, one or more of the following acts: cheating, plagiarism, collusion, use of annotated texts or teacher’s editions, and/or falsifying academic records.
