[ Propose a political reform that you think would go furthest in cleaning up our system of government. You can draft any law that you believe would rectify something you consider unjust. Even if you believe that the USA is the greatest nation on the face of the earth, you still are required to propose a law that you believe would make it even better.

o Justice or Mercy?

o Security or Freedom?

[I understand that each of these things is important in its own right, but I’m asking you to get off the fence and pick a side. Either/Or is the order of the day on this journal entry. Yes, I know that in a perfect world, you should be able to have both, but the sad truth is that we’re living in a time when we need to decide how much freedom we’re willing to sacrifice for security and vice versa. Having discussed Hammurabi’s Code of Law, Egypt’s theocracy, and Plato’s Republic, you should have a pretty good grasp of this issue from various viewpoints. Bottom line, though, in order to get credit for this writing, you have to pick a side and defend its righteousness using analysis and detailed examples.]
