Preparation before class will allow for participation in lecture and lab discussions. Please check the FAQ section for answers to your questions, and please ask questions by email, on line chat office hours, or posting them to the bulletin board or list serve, if available. Study daily and review all old materials two to three times weekly. Do not wait until the last minute to clarify information for a quiz, exam, or practical.
Students are expected to have access to the WWW, Internet, and have reliable email service providers that enable the student to review, open, and print attachments.
Work is to be done and turned in as an EMAIL attachment using Microsoft office related programs such as word, excel, PowerPoint, etc. Hard copies may be dropped off prior to the due date at the instructors office, K244 at the Spring Creek Campus.
Method of Evaluation :
Exams and quizzes will be given as outlined in this addendum and as scheduled on the on-line course calendar. Dates of exams are subject to change and notice will be given if this becomes necessary. The final course grade is based on 70% lecture final average and 30% lab final grade.
Exams and quizzes are due to the lecture instructor by 10 am on the day following the end of the exam or quiz. Late work will be docked a letter grade every two hours. Nothing will be accepted after 8pm and the grade for the lecture exam or quiz will become a zero (0) no matter how much work was accomplished.
No make-up exams will be given during the semester for any missed exam for any reason.
If a regular exam is missed, the student must take the final exam. The final is comprehensive and will be available for one day only during finals week.
If a student misses more than one exam, a zero will be assigned for that grade.
Grading Policy : Final Course Grades will be assigned as follows...
A = 90.0 and above, B= 80.0-89.5, C= 70.0-79.5, D= 60.0-69.5, F= below 60.0

Participation in this on line course will consist of commenting on discussion topics. Students are required to log on to WebCT and post their thoughts or ideas in the discussion topic section of the course. There is also an option to participate in weekly, real time discussions using the WebCT chat room labeled discussion topics chat. The live chat for discussions will take place during the instructor's office hours for this course.
Group activities may be assigned as needed pending adequate participation. Each student must participate in a minimum of 3 out of 8 biweekly discussions over the semester to fulfill their lecture and lab participation grade.
Topics are given every other week on Sundays and are available through the course calendar. Discussions of a particular topic must occur before the next topic begins. Time of discussion is flexible as posting to the WebCT discussion dialogue box is available to all students and the instructor. The Web CT chat rooms are for those individuals who wish to participate in a live discussion. Please use the room labeled discussion topics chat for this purpose only. There are other chat rooms for asking questions or for general class chat. Nothing can be posted in a chat room.
If you need to make a personal comment or ask a question in private, use the email icon to contact the instructor by email, as discussion and chat rooms are available to the entire class and this part of WebCT has been designated for this purpose.
