Know gamete formation, definitions, and the processes involved with mitosis and meiosis.

General genetics :

            chromosome numbers and names (autosomal, sex)

            alleles

             homozygous, heterozygous

             haploid, diploid

             dominant, recessive,

            phenotype, genotype

 

Explain simple inheritance, polygenic inheritance, complete dominant inheritance, incomplete dominance inheritance, codominance inheritance, sex-linked traits.

Describe what happens at feritlization & where it occurs.

Describe or draw with labels : a morula, a blastocyst

Describe what happens at implantation

Define gastrulation and KNOW the three germ layers (embryonic connective tissue layers) and TWO derivatives from each layer (what they develop into).

Know 2 of the 4 extraembryonic membranes, their location, and specific function.

Define placentation and give 2 functions of the placenta

Discuss fetal circulation regarding the pathway and list and discuss the patent (open and functional) structures involved with creating the pathway, their location and function.

Know a hormone involved in labor and name and briefly describe the three stages of labor.

Be able to do a Punnet Square Genetics problem

Know four (4) aging changes seen with ANY of the body systems (A&P I or II) : one change per system.
