1. Know the respiratory structures and function dealing with all the upper/conducting and the lower respiratory structures.

2. Know the alveoli structure and function very well

3. Physiology Phases : 4 phases to name, define, and generally what occurs in each phase. Know the gas laws that affect each phase. 

4. Pulmonary ventilation cycle : inspiration / expiration and formulas that affect this cycle P1V1 = P2V2,   F   =    P/R , and other factors : compliance, transpulmonary pressure and how they relate to one another. 

5. Surface Tension : define, cause, factors that affect or change surface tension in the lungs.

6. Define the lung volumes and lung capacities.  Name the instrument used and another type of respiratory function test.

7. Discuss gas exchange for the respiratory system and what happens with External/Internal respiration.
