I am a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker, a registered Texas Property Tax Consultant, and a licensed Washington Managing Real Estate Broker. I am a member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors, the Collin County Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Real Estate Advisors. You can find out more about my real estate practice at RBM Real Estate Services.

I began working in real estate in early 1999 as a lease administrator in a commercial property management office. In late 2003 I was hired by the Staubach Company (later acquired by Jones Lang LaSalle) to work on corporate real estate services accounts. I worked on projects across the U.S. and internationally, representing both owners and users of real estate.

I joined Collin College as Professor of Real Estate in Fall 2018. Before that, I was an Adjunct Professor in the real estate program at Tarrant County College from 2005 to 2016. I hold the CREI (Certified Real Estate Instructor) designation from the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association and the CDEI (Certified Distance Education Instructor) designation from the International Distance Education Certification Center.

I have extensive experience in the mediation and arbitration of commercial disputes. You can find out more at McLeroy Dispute Resolution.

Recommended Reading

There are a number of books that will be worthwhile reading for prospective real estate professionals. These are a few of my favorites.

Don't overpay for them! You should be able to find them at Half Price Books, used on Amazon.com, or occasionally for free on the Internet Archive.

Secrets of Closing the Sale

A great book on sales by DFW legend Zig Ziglar.

Getting to Yes

The seminal book on principled negotiation, based on the findings of the Harvard Negotiation Project. Not a "sales" book per se, but negotiation is the cornerstone of sales.

The Big Short

An entertaining and informative book about the 2008 financial crisis, and the small number of people who saw it coming and bet against the system. Also a movie if you're into that sort of thing.

Too Big to Fail

A more sober look at the efforts of government officials and financial industry leaders to try and keep the economy from collapsing. Also an HBO movie.

Customer for Life

A book on excellence in customer service from the owner of the Sewell family of auto dealers.

Barbarians at the Gate

The story of the leveraged buy-out of RJR Nabisco has timeless messages about business and just how ugly it can get.
