A&P Basics Course Grade Summary

Lecture : 70% of overall course grade

5 lecture exams @ 20 % each make up the Lecture portion of the grade

Missed exam means that you take the final exam during finals week

Lecture quizzes are used to get you prepared for the exams and the 10 best lecture quizzes (out of 15 possible) can be used to substitute for a lower exam grade. The lecture quizzes will not substitute for any missed exam.

Lab : 30 % of overall course grade

60% of the lab grade comes from Four lab practicals @ 15% each

20% of the lab grade comes from Ten best lab quizzes (out of 15 possible)

20% of the lab grade comes from Four lab reports @ 25% each

Participation: Based on comments, thoughts, reasearch for 3 discussion topics

10% of lecture grade and 5% of lab grade

Each time a student particpates in the online discussion, the following will occur:

3 points will be added to the final lab average for the 5% of lab participation grade

3 points will be added to the final lecture average for 5% of the lecture participation grade

3 points will be added to the final lecture average for the second 5% (making 10% total) of the lecture participation grade

Likewise, your grade will be lowered for non-participation, in reverse order. So three points will be taken off the final lecture average if a student only participates twice. Three more points (6 total) will be taken off the final lecture average if a student only participates once. Nine points total (three from lab final average and six from the lecture final average) will be taken off if there is no participation from the student.
